Patricia Tyson, a 2026 African American Living Legend Awardee

Patricia Tyson, a founding member of the Talbot Avenue Bridge Committee, will be honored as a 2026 African American Living Legend as part of Montgomery County’s 29th Annual Juneteenth Celebration!

She is one of eight awardees at this year’s ceremony, which will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown (12901 Town Commons Drive). The Juneteenth celebration will continue from 1–10 p.m., featuring cultural performances, educational exhibits, community activities, vendors, and family-friendly entertainment.

County Executive Marc Elrich will present the Living Legend Awards to this year’s honorees. The Living Legend Awards recognize individuals whose lifetime achievements have strengthened Montgomery County through leadership, public service, advocacy, education, faith, business, and community engagement. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
